Metronome, the venerable Boston area music magazine, has this to say about A Real Fine Day: “Nomad proves to be adept at all facets of blues that include acoustic, electric, psychedelic and funky…In control of every note, Mark Nomad delivers a satisfyin’ collection of tunes on A Real Fine Day that’s specifically aimed for a wide audience of music lovers and blues aficionados. Good stuff.”
Big news! My brand new album, A Real Fine Day, was just released on Blue Star Records. I’m proud of this one. Sturgis Cunningham and Dale Monette on drums and Peter King and John O’Boyle on bass, all did a great job with these songs. It’s a true musical journey. I hope you’ll take it and have a real fine day!
We were honored to appear on a recent episode of Don Odell’s Legends television show. It lives up to its name and has featured a number of terrific blues and roots artists over the years such as Joe Louis Walker, Guitar Shorty, Pat Travers and The Royal Southern Brotherhood which includes Devon Allman, Cryil Neville and Mike Zito.
Please go to the Video page to view an interview I did with Art Tipaldi, Editor of Blues Revue magazine and to individual songs that feature Peter King on bass, Sturgis Cunningham on drums and special guest Tom Orszulak on tenor sax. Please enjoy!
A dear friend recently forwarded this video from a television performance a few years back. Peter King and Billy Klock join me on this version of “Double Trouble” written by the great Otis Rush:
Please visit the website of talented photographer Giulio Limongelli who took the back cover photo on Torch Tones:
Here’s what Federico Borra said about his beautiful painting “Donna Rossa”which is the cover of Torch Tones:
“Donna Rossa is a woman who usually lives in the painting. Sometimes she leaves it, and appears in a dream. When you try to catch her you wake up and she’s back in the painting, not being able to remember her face.”
From the Nov/Dec 2011 issue of Blues Revue:
“…Nomad boasts powerful vocals and guitar prowess as well as some imaginative contemporary blues song crafting…Whether wrangling slide or letting his fingers do the talking, Nomad proves again to be a consummate singer, songwriter and player, and a qualified bluesman of the highest order…”
